Today, a third day trip was planned. We were heading to Forbes for the annual Forbes Easter Camel Races. Unfortunately, due to the long drive, we missed the first and second race, but we were there for the third race and all the events afterwards. After the third race, there was the kids foot race. Kids were invited to come run for the chance to get a MacDonalds voucher. But really, it wasn't about running fast, it was simply about the ability to line up fast. After the fourth race, they hosted the annual Forbes Easter Crayfish Race. This is a betting event where people "action" crayfishes, then put them in a race. The person who owned the crayfish that won is then the winner and gets 50% of the money actioned. The other 50% go to charity.
And finally, after the sixth race, the Lolly Drop was hosted. Essentially, a ute drives down the track and drops hundreds of lollies onto the track. As soon as the ute is past them, the kids lining up are allowed to vault the fence and then proceed to search for the lollies. I got loads!
