Day 3 - Bald Hill Mine
Today, the last day of the Festival, we had planned a tour through the town. A short walk around Hill End would have taken us only 20 minutes, but with my frequent photography stops, and also a lunch break, it took us about 1:30 hrs.
Then, after that, we decided to walk the track to Bald Hill Mine, past the old stamper batteries used to crush the quartz that contained gold.
After 1:30 hrs walking the track, we then walked from Hill End to a nearby café that sold "famous pies". And I must admit, the pies were as good as they said – yum, yum. The café also had a certain attraction to us – especially Niklas – because the shop owners kept chickens on the grounds, but also mallards and geese.
Upon returning to Hill End, we split up – Dad stayed to take some more photos, and Mum, Niklas and I went back to camp.
